Festival of Spooky Action at a Distance @ Elektron Art
In the second Festival Of Spooky Action At A Distance e⁻lektron will continue the explorations on the field of transdisciplinary performing arts.
The artists and scientists participating in the festival will look into how the virtual and physical space affects each other both directly and indirectly. We invite artists to present their thoughts and works in the context of the phenomena of the spooky action at a distance which was first described and named by Albert Einstein.
Our hope is that whoever you are and wherever you are you’ll think about it and say "Indeed, I do have few notions about this particularly confusing thought".
Festival Of Spooky Action At A Distance 2021 will present works of Hiroaki Umeda, Avan Omer, Rourou Ye, Inga Salurand, Liis Vares, Hendrik Kaljujärv, Mary Notari, 5 Horses, Artjom Astrov, +aave+, Samuli Tanner, Asuna and more.

RECESS @ Chez Bushwick
About the program
For this special Lunar New Year presentation, Rourou Ye will share works that draw on Chinese culture as well as Rourou's experiences as an immigrant within the United States. Within her choreography, Rourou recalls the far-away sensations of "home" while drawing on her multi-cultural identities. The retrospective program will begin with previous works by Rourou that explore western contemporary dance with Chinese classical movement elements and aesthetics, as well as works that hybridize different Chinese folk dance styles while prioritizing the individual expression of contemporary dance. The program will conclude with the premiere of a new choreographic work that responds with movement and images to the album 42 days by Southeast of Rain, a band consisting of two Chinese contemporary musicians. Together, they recall their artistic memories from the motherland of China.
The program will feature a special performance from Southeast of Rain during a brief interlude in the program. READ MORE
